| | My objective is to educate the public about this little known artform, through my website, demonstrations, classes, and lectures. I have been involved in this artform since 1988 and teaching since 1997. I continue my own education through other seminar instructors, internet information, and of course, painting as many days as I can. In this way, I am able to pass advanced information on to my students and associates. My classes are held in Lincoln & Auburn, CA, as well as privately held classes in my student's homes around the Sacramento area. I am also available for "traveling" seminars. I specialize in teaching beginners, who I feel need close attention to realize their own potential. My classes are structured, and center around "projects". Each class typically runs 4-5 classes to each session in which our goal is to complete the chosen project. With each project, the students are taught a new technique and/or subject. I have been involved in or am currently involved in the following organizations: The World Organization (past State Treasurer), California Association of China Painters (State Secretary: 2 terms, State Correspondance Secretary: 1 term), Porcelain Painters On-Line (Charter member), International Porcelain Artists & Teachers, Sequoia Gateways Porcelain Artists (Seminar Chairman, Secretary, & Treasurer), Camellia City Porcelain Artists (a local chapter of Cal. Assoc. of Porcelain Artists: past President, Vice-President, & Treasurer). A huge proponent of demonstrating to the public, (since this is where I first came in contact with this wonderful art,) I typically do several fair venues each year and other public domains such as: Yuba-Sutter Co. Fair, Gold Country Fair, (where I have swept my class and was awarded BEST OF DIVISION, 2 yrs running!) California State Fair, The Old Governor's Mansion, Sun City Lincoln Hills, and was featured on Sacramento & Co. (local television), and of course our club's October Tea & Show. This year has proven to be equally busy and I intend to continue demonstrating & lecturing where and when asked. I am always glad to answer any questions regarding this art. Please feel free to contact me at any time, I'd love to hear from you! |
